Halloween has always been a fun holiday for me. I usually have a Halloween party, for all ages. I love to dress up to take the kids trick or treating and in the past the hubby and I would go dancing so I would get creative with my costumes. These days though it’s a little tiring.
This year with all the financial struggles we’ve had we had decided not to have a party then Gabriel decided he wanted a costume party for his birthday. It’s hard for me to say no to my kids for stuff like that, these are the moments great memories are made of. As a child I did not have birthday parties so in our house birthdays have always been a grand event. And let’s face it you only turn eleven once.
I usually just go around our neighborhood but this year we decided to go to my friend Jacqui’s house. She has three girls Alyssa in college, Bella who also has CDC and Gabby who is my daughter Emily’s age. She ordered pizza had drinks and cupcakes and I made homemade chocolate chip cookies. Our hubby’s decided to sit out and hand out candy this year so we ventured out. My older two went there separate ways with Gabby and left a little before us. It had been raining days before and even earlier thatday but it really turned into a beautiful evening.
We were out for an hour and twenty minutes, the girls had just about had enough when we got back. Perfect timing. We ended the evening with pizza and snacks before heading back home.
My eldest Arturo is always raving about how tall he is and he tried to go trick or treating and no one believed he was 15, funny how sometimes it doesn’t pay to look older. I thought it was funny! And no I don’t think he’s too old to trick or treat, heck my 25 year old sister was literally trick or treating for herself!
A great night it was!
