There are no words to describe my gratitude to the doctors who operated on Sophie. I feel that there was a reason they were the ones to perform this operation and treat her. I believe everything happens for a reason, I hope through this experience they may be able to help someone else one day.
In the last four years I have found tremendous amounts of love. Love I never imagine could exist so potently, especially from people we have never even met. From the moment of Sophie’s birth she has had an army of supporters. People who love and accept her just as she is, perfect in her own way.
Within hours of her birth we thought we were going to lose her and so we prayed, we asked God for his grace for our little girl. Prayer chains were started, people from all over learned about her and began to pray. The outpouring of love was felt even from a distance, Sophie has a way of touching all those who encounter her story. The doctors could not comprehend how she would heal the way she did despite the odds.
We have been blessed with an army of warriors of love, some are family and friends and many are people who have never met my family. They are individuals who join together to send us good thoughts and prayers. People who care about the life of another human being not looking at race, gender or disability. People who just care and want to share in the gift of healing.
Love. It’s powerful! Love is the strongest feeling, brightest light and strongest energy we could ever experience. And just because you do not know someone personally does not mean you can not share love.
I have been a witness to the power of love many times since Sophie became a part of our lives. Hope and love have healing powers, especially when combined with prayers. Last week I was terrified, I did not know how I would make it through Sophie’s surgery alone. I asked for prayers from everyone I know, and they took it upon themselves to share my request with their friends and families. The outpouring of support was more than I could have expected, I still have not been able to respond to everyone. It’s amazing but I felt as if there was an army there with me, I felt safe and there was just an incredible feeling of peace. I am certain this was the positive energy, the feeling of love, hope and prayers uplifting my family.
The power of love is immeasurable! I want to thank all those near and far who were there with us on this part of our journey. There are no words that could express my gratitude. THANK YOU and God Bless you all!!
