Chasing Rainbows

I’ve been trying to find the words to put together a post in honor of a special little boy who has gone home to heaven. His name is Gavin.

I tried to find the right words but could not because I become frozen with my own fears of losing my own child. I cannot begin to imagine the heartache this family is experiencing but despite the sadness they have given us an amazing gift of strength and love by honoring Gavin and sharing their journey with us.

So please take a moment to read about Gavin and his family. Losing a child has to be one of the most difficult trials of life. Having the strength to share your journey in the most difficult times in your life is more than inspiring. Gavin’s mother Kate has done just that. She not only shared Gavin’s journey but also his farewell. She said goodbye to her little boy with grace and welcomed us into her circle to celebrate his life.

As difficult as life can be to have a child with special needs and different abilities the life lessons these children teach us can not be measured and sometimes even spoken. The pure love and innocence they emanate is worth more than words can describe.
